We build safety sensors into the footrest, include a locking mechanism in the seat belt, and give the motor instant reversing capability. With automatic limits at each end of the track, standard mechanical and electrical slack cable safety devices, and a fail-safe mechanism that prevents operation until the seat is in the correct position, this stairlift is one of the safest on the market today. It is ETL listed and meets ASME A17.1 and A18 safety standards for public and private use. We also include call stations for both top and bottom landings, which can be mounted to the wall or to the floor.
Easy "Homeowner" Installation. Unbelievably, the AmeriGlide Rubex electric powered stair lift simply plugs into the nearest outlet. No special wiring is needed! You can install it on either the right-hand or left-hand side of your staircase; you can even switch it from side to side without any additional parts.

AmeriGlide stair lifts are designed for homeowner installation. It normally takes 1-3 hours for your first stair lift installation. If desired, you may contract with us to install the stair lift for $550 in most cases. Installations on concrete, tile, or steel stair cases are more expensive.
What kind of warranty do AmeriGlide stair lifts come with?
New AmeriGlide Stair Lifts come with a 2 year warranty on parts and drivetrain. Factory Reconditioned and Used AmeriGlide Stair Lifts come with a 1 year warranty on parts and drivetrain. Batteries have a 30-day warranty. We are so confident of the quality of these stair lifts that we provide the best warranties in the industry!
How much weight is the stair lift capable of carrying?
Most AmeriGlide stair lifts have a lifting capacity of 300 lbs. Some Heavy Duty Stair Lifts have a 500 lb. weight capacity. Each stair lift is designed for use by one person at a time.
How much will it cost to maintain the stair lift and have it serviced?
The AmeriGlide stair lift needs very little maintenance - just a light greasing of the track every 6 months will keep it running smoothly.
